Week 12 (11/18-11/22)

Greetings Delaney Families,

We are looking forward to seeing you all next week for parent/teacher conferences.  Please remember that students will be dismissed at noon (12 p.m.) for conferences on Monday (Nov. 25th) and Tuesday (Nov. 26th).  The children will also be dismissed at noon on Wednesday, November 27th for the Thanksgiving Break.  There will be no school on November 28th or 29th due to holiday break.

On Friday, we were fortunate to have representatives from the Wrentham Developmental Center and Best Buddies Organization join us for Disability Awareness.  The third graders were able to learn about intellectual disabilities and participate in some activities designed to highlight the challenges that individuals face on a daily basis.  I would like to thank Jim O., Chris V., Christine M., Diane B. Mioleth M., Stephanie E., Wayne L., Desiree C., Walter D. and Brenda F. for presenting.  I would also like to thank the PTO and all of the volunteers who helped to make today and this program successful.

Thank you to all the families who were able to join us for the first Positive Referral breakfast of the 2013-2014 school year.  The Food Service department provided coffee, juice, and a variety of delicious treats for everyone to enjoy.  Thank you to them for all of their hard work organizing this event.  Lastly, a huge thank you to all of the students who continue to demonstrate outstanding character.  We are so proud of you for making such great choices each and every day!

Our second and third grade students and teachers have been hard at work creating some amazing bulletin boards.  Please enjoy a few pictured below and be sure to take a peek at the rest when you come to visit the building in the next couple of weeks!

Have you seen the display cases in front of the Gibbons Gym?  Check out the Collection of Collections the next time you're in the building.  Third graders who wish to share, "donate" their collectibles temporarily along with a written description of the items.  Below is a picture of some of our most recently displayed treasures.

Thank you for reading!
Have a relaxing weekend!

Sincerely,
Melissa D. Peterson, Principal
