Week 14 (12/2-12/6)

Dear Families,
It's been a great week at the Delaney School!

Positive Referrals

Congratulations! These students showed exemplary behavior and were recognized for being wonderful role models in both their classroom and the school community.

First graders in Mrs. McNeal's and Miss. Walther's class got a chance to speak with Chris Lambert, Channel 7 meteorologist, as part of their air and weather unit. Students have been learning about different types of clouds and weather as well as studying the weather tools, such as rain gauges, thermometers, and anemometers, that meteorologists use.

This week, the ELA committee met for a half day under the guidance of our ELA coordinator, Dr. Judy Neville.  The team is using the Common Core State Standards to look at curriculum and  assessments specifically in the areas of reading and writing. Using feedback from their grade level colleagues throughout the year, they will be developing curriculum maps and assessment calendars and examining best practices.  I would like to thank them all for the tremendous amount of time and hard work that they are dedicating to this essential process.

 Grade level representatives include:
Preschool - Mrs. Ahern and Mrs. Fernandez
Kindergarten - Mrs. Beausoleil and Ms. Williams
Grade One - Mrs. Albertini and Mrs. Riccio
Grade Two - Mrs. Pitman and Mrs. Young
Grade Three - Mrs. Jeffries and Mrs. Tufts
Reading Specialists - Mrs. Lamb and Mrs. Stocking
ELA Curriculum Coordinator - Dr. Neville
